The Danish Royal Air Force has the following wings (abbreviation in brackets)
-Air Control Wing (ACW) in Karup
-ir Transport Wing (ATW) in Aalborg
-Fighter Wing (FW) in Skrydstrup
-Helicopter Wing (HW) in Karup
The flags of the Danish Air Force Wings are basically the same:
Any wing flag is red divided by an off-centred white cross patty. On upper hoist is the badge of the Air Force in proper colours. On lower hoist is the abbreviation of the wing (1st line) and the name of the airbase (2nd line), both in golden initials and centred. On the centre of the cross is the royal cypher, currently already that on of Queen Margrethe 2.
The flag displayed above is that on of the fighter wing. The inscription is: "FW" (1st line) "SKRYDSTRUP" (2nd line).
The badge displays the lesser state arms, i.e. shield Or three lions passant Azure in pale, armed and tongued Gules, flanked by a golden pair of wings and surmounted by a royal crown proper.

Aircraft Markings

Minor changes involved changing the fin flash from the roundel to the state flag after WW2 in 1945, following the practice of the naval air arm (Marinens Flyvevaesen, formed 25 March 1912 and adding a crowned anchor to navy planes in 1950, see this photo ), were the only changes. During WW2 Danish planes still carried those roundels flying in Greenland.

A roundel of red and white, red outside double the diameter of the white disk. A note to the figure in Album des Pavillons (2000) explains that the national flag is painted on the fin of the Navy Aircraft.

A special tail marking was adopted to celebrate the wedding between Prince Frederik of Denmark and Miss Mary Donaldson from Australia, the Danish Air Force painted the official monograph on the tail.

[Military aircraft pennant]  1:16, image by Željko Heimer

Flaggenbuch (1939) shows a light blue triangular long pennant. The Flaggenbuch (1992) reprint of the 1941 update shows the pennant shorter and adds details on usage.
